The humidifier was easy to assemble and I am pleased with the unit (appearance and construction) and how quickly it humidifies a room. I use it in the bedroom and am able to humidify the room in a few hours before bedtime and turn it off the rest of the night. I have humidity monitors throughout the house and able to test how effective this unit is as a whole house humidifier. This unit meets my expectations for humidifying one room but I found it a challenge to humidify the whole house even positioning the unit near one of the central air returns. I am considering buying another unit to humidify the den area. I don't like the supplied stiff Tygon filling hose and having to lift a filled reservoir (over 15 pounds) of water. This was a replacement for one I bought 6 years ago. Same model. This one was harder to get going, initially, and seems fussier to keep functioning. I use this humidifier in my 3500 Sq. Ft. home that has a LOT of natural wood in it. The first week I had to refill the tank at least once each day as the wood soaked up all the moisture it put out. I located it next to one of the HVAC inlet vents so the system would carry it through out the house and it has worked well. The tank has lasted longer and longer as the humidity level has stabilized through out the house. The multiple fan speeds are nice but it does get pretty noisy at the higher fan speeds. The humidity read out is a nice feature along with the auto shut off with low water level. The only draw back is that the moisture sensor for the air humidity level is located on the power cord close the the unit and air inlet on the back side. Gave this to my brother as Christmas Gift. He uses a wood stove to heat his house in NH. He did say it is not convenient to fill it. Also did say it works great. Not too sturdy though so you have to be careful not to bump into anything when wheeling it to sink to refill with hose. I will say I am not sure what he thought they would be made out of !! Plastic is what they all are made from. given as gift 4 Jan 16
