This kit includes the Aprilaire saddle valve with a push-in fitting and 20 FT polyethylene tubing. Saddle valve and push-in fitting also work with 1/4" copper tubing.
This saddle valve has the self piercing/tapping feature. The water does not need to be turned off to install. To install; back-off the valve all the way to retract the piecing needle (turn counterclockwise). Next position the valve on copper pipe and tighten the mounting clamps. Then turn the valve clockwise all the way until a hole is pieced and the valve is in the closed position. Then the valve works as usual. The instructions are shown in the 5th photo.
The valve body is solid brass, the compression nut is brass, the ferrule is brass, the 2nd ferrule is plastic. The clamping brackets and screws are anodized steel and fit up to a 1" OD pipe. The Tee handle is stainless steel non-magnetic. Includes the square rubber gasket. The compression nut has 1/2" wrench size.
Included is a genuine John Guest Push-in Connect Adapter CI3208U7S. The John Guest fitting is Acetal and FDA approved and NSF Certified. Once tubing (plastic or copper) is pushed-in, it can be removed by pushing in on the collar. Additionally a 2nd nylon ferrule for plastic tubing is included, so you have fittings for both ends of the ¼" plastic tubing (or copper). Ideal for humidifier or ice maker, etc. Also the push-in fitting can be installed at the humidifier end (or ice maker) and the compression nut at the saddle valve.
